What is the difference between World Space and Local Space?
World is the X, Y and Z of the entire space the modeler has to work with in the program. The pivot point is fixed, it is the absolute XYZ. It would be like looking at a compass in real life; North, South, East and West never change their true directions.
Local is the pivot point relative to a selected object. It can be altered and scaled, and, as you do so, the World place remains the same. In real life, this would be like a person's front, back and sides. The person may move and rotate, and, as they do so, so do his or her front, back and sides. During this movement, however, the absolute North, South, East and West of the planet remain the same.
